The cow has been considered as a sacred animal in Indian culture, and is given a special status in all rituals. Worshipping the cow as Goddess Kamadhenu, the divine bovine Goddesss, who, according to the scriptures fulfills all your desires when the divine Gho pooja is performed. It also can wipe out all negativity and bestow you with wealth, happiness, and prosperity in life.

According to the Puranas, it is believed that the cow’s milk (Goksheerum) contains four Samudras (Chathu Sagaras) and the entire world (Samastha Bhuvanaas)is hidden in all parts of the cow. One can understand the various devi devathas, who dwell in different parts of the cow observing the details of the parts of the cow and get benefitted worshipping different parts of it.

For instance, Sprinkling water on the cow’s horns is equivalent to the effect of water of Triveni Sangamam as well as worshipping Kasi Visweswaradu with Siva Ashtotharam, Sahasranamalu and with the leaves of Maredu (Bilwadalalu).

One can benefit the loss of children by worshipping the nose part of the cow, where Lord Subramanya resides.To get rid of all diseases, one should worship the ears – the place where Aswini Devathas reside.

Worshipping the eyes, the place of the Sun and the Moon is beneficial to obtain knowledge and to get wealth and prosperity. Where as, worshipping the tongue, the place of Varuna Deva benefits to get children early.

Worshipping the right side of the face where Yama resides and the left side- Dharmadevathas, leads to attain moksha.

Monday is most auspicious day for worshipping Lord Shiva. Young unmarried girls can attend this pooja to get good husbands. Married couples also observe the vrata and pray the divine couple of Shiva and Parvati and ask for peaceful family life. Whoever follows this Somavara pooja should get their wishes materialised by the grace of the Lord Shiva and finally should get the liberation.

The eighth day of the lunar phase is known as Ashtami. This day on the waning period of the Moon is known as Krishna Paksha Ashtami. Worshipping Bhairava on waning Ashtami Tithi can remove bad karma, negative energies, and vibrations in your life. Appeasing the God shall also ensure confidence and determination in mind. Generally, the day is not considered auspicious to start any new venture, education, marriage, construction or travel. The best activity to be performed on this day is to worship Lord Kala Bhairava and feed stray dogs.

The Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha coming every month is known as Monthly Shivaratri. According to mythological beliefs, Mahadev appeared in the form of Shivling on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha. The day this incident happened, that day is known as Mahashivratri. But since then the day of Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of every month has been dedicated to Shiva worship.

According to the belief, keeping the fast of Mahadev on this day fulfills all the wishes of a person. Even the toughest tasks become difficult. Jagran and Shiva worship have special significance on the night of Shivratri. If unmarried people keep a fast on this day, then they get life partner as per their wish and the problems of married people are removed. Happiness and peace come in their life.

Pradosham is the time present between one and half hour before and after the sun set (One muhurtham). Pradosham is a combination of two words pra and dosham in which Pra means Removes, and Dosham means sins that is the time that removes sins.

As per the karanagama, worshiping God Shiva along with God Rishabha or Nandi during the pradosha time or pradosha pooja will get immense benefits. It is believed to relieve their diseases and mental disbalances, fears of death.

Narayan Bali is one of the key rituals performs after the death of family member in certain case when any person’s death is unnatural or accidental, when rituals are not offered to ancestors or sometime due to horoscope mentioning Pitru Dosh. The entire procedure of rituals is described in Garuda Puran and Dharma Sindhu with various scenarios. Many times Narayana Bali is said to perform when Rahu or Chandra lies in Lagna sthan and asserted by Saturn or lagna/Saturn lies in Nakshatra like Pushya or Anuradha or Uttar Bhadrapada. It means when a person perform MahaMrutyunjayaHomam he/she can win over death. This Homam helps to reduce the dangers to life due to accidents and serious ills also in removing evil effects of , this is performed to achieve jaya or victory over mrutyu or death, for longevity, cure for illness and for healthy life.

Thila homam is a Vedic ritual performed to bring peace to souls and comes to the rescue of souls of ancestors and others who may have suffered an unnatural death. This Vedic ritual performed to rid a person from the curse of Pitru Dosha and do away the difficulties that come with the Dosha.
